Some of the bigger prizes, including a 160GB Maxtor hard drive, are for members only so be sure to sign up for a membership either before or during the event.

Also, it will soon be time for officer elections for the next academic year. If you want to become more involved with our organization, be sure to visit the website regularly for updates on when the elections will be. Once again, thanks to all our sponsors for their continued support!!

X-Box JunkiesWe have not forgotten about you guys! We are encouraging all faithful X-Box'ers to bring their set-ups. That's right! Bring your box and your TV, we will have adequate space. Bring your friends, link up and let the games begin!

the hive hits the news

New venue, new kicks, same great action! The February LAN was one for the books. The servers ran great and our power situation was setup masterfully. We even implemented a real-time server monitor to keep all of our gamers tuned into which servers were active.

Special thanks go out to our sponsors for making this event the success that it was. Our sponsors include:
We at the hive salute you!

Thats right gamers, the next LAN is set for the week before Valentines Day! Time to get all violent before you mush up the following week. The new location is SUB Ballroom A on the MSU Campus. Bigger, more power, easier to set up... This room should accommodate about 80 computers as opposed to the 50 we had before.

Sponsors are still lining up, and the final list of prizes will be up soon. Games will be Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2 Death Match, UT2k4 (including the new XMP mod), Far Cry, Warhammer 40k DOW and others. The dual X-box set up will again be there with networked Halo2.

Keep an eye on the forums to stay up to date on changes and suggestions. Game On!

    (dw)/(dt), and plenty of it

Our December LAN was bigger than even we anticipated...Wow, what a turn out! An official count of 48 was made, however, several folks forgot to sign in (consequently missing out on the drawings :( ). It has become clear that we are tearing at the seams when it comes to the room we have been hosting from...a larger room has been secured for the February LAN.

Special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors that made this event the success that it was:Dr.Paxton dishing out some medicine of his own!

    • Bawls
    • MSU Alumni Assoc.
    • Radio Shack (of Bozeman)
    • Staples (of Bozeman)
    • Movie Lovers (of Bozeman)

The winners of our members prizes, a 512 mb usb key courtesy of the MSU Alumni and a pair of 5 mile range, two way walkie talkies were Chad Bohannan & Levi "Junkman" Junkert (respectively).

Again we would like to thank all of you that made it to our humble gathering, and encourage you to hit us with feedback via the forum. We are always looking for ways to improve the "gameplay"...so to speak :)

    The Hive, Out and About!

MSU HIVEMIND will be volunteering this coming weekend (October 9th) with the homecoming parade here in Bozeman. That's right, The Hive will be directing your traffic..he he he...

We'll be out and about for most of the morning and then probably sleeping off our exertions around noon. If you get a chance, come downtown, support the university and say hello :)

    Lan Party a Success!

For the most part, we'd have to say that the LAN Party turned out to be a success. We had some new faces there along with the regulars. The one on one UT tournament had some surprising results. Especially for our President ;) (I guess eight year olds can throw down!)

Plans are in the works for another LAN Party sometime in October. The latest information on the next event will be discussed in the forums and eventually posted under the schedule section...stay tuned!
